This was the first year that Heather was able to be a part of FCA’s UCLA Camp, because she was so new to staff last year. This is the largest summer camp in all of FCA each year. This year we had around 1,000 students in attendance for the five day camp, where they each picked a sport to get better at. Every night we had our program, where athletes gave powerful testimonies, the worship team led us in awesome song and communion with God, and the students could choose if they wanted to give their lives to Christ. Heather’s role at camp was a beach volleyball coach (perfect, right?), and she was able to teach her favorite sport to a hard-working group of girls while also teaching them how to live out the Gospel. This was one of the most tiring weeks of the year, because she left camp to drive straight up to San Francisco to play in the next AVP event of the season (where her and her partner came up just short once again). Heather continues to feel blessed to play the sport she loves and minister to athletes daily, no matter how tiring it is!
